These are the “senior citizens” from my collection. Yes, they have put in their time so to speak, or they have already met their production run. I guess those ones sort of retired young! Now a days, when I retire a Fairy or Santa, I personally sign any ones remaining in my warehouse before releasing them to the retailers. So look through these, and see if your favorite retailer was quick & lucky enough to have ordered my Retired Fairies. Or, email Rose at my office. She and her staff will do their best to locate a dealer for you who has what you are looking for…but you might have to be patient, as the hunt for these can be half the fun of actually getting one!

Hi there!
I’ve come across a Mark Roberts Fairy for sale the retailer claims is from the year 2001 & retired, titled ‘Enchanted Forest Fairy’.
I’m familiar with the ‘Enchanted Forest Fairy’ from another year, but not one from 2001, so…came here to do some research.
I don’t see an Enchanted Forest Fairy from 2001 listed, but I don’t see many of the earlier fairies listed either.
The Enchanted Forest Fairy I’m attempting to verify from 2001 has red velvet attire, similar to a Santa suit, but Victorianish, with ecru lace around the bottom of the pants & jacket sleeves. He has the former resin shoes in black.
Is anyone aware of this fairy & if so…is he from 2001, is his name ‘Enchanted Forest Fairy’?
I’m curious, why aren’t many of the earlier fairies included in the retired fairy category?
Thanks for any help available, it’s greatly appreciated.
Happy 4th of July to all!! God Bless Our Brave Soliders & their families.

Thanks for the comment Jamie. Actually, just above this posting is a summary of all my Retired Fairies…and there is a Rainbow Fairy! He is pretty wonderful, and he actually has his own rainbow. The easiest way to see him is to click on the word “Description” in the listing, and it will automatically re-sort everything in alphabetical order…then just scroll down to the 3 sizes of the Rainbow Fairy. I think you will be pleasently surprised. In the meantime, Rose at my office is the expert at finding retailers carrying specific product, so she will be in touch with you shortly.

Hi,
First, I would like to say your creations are just beautiful. I recently acquired one at a Hospice store and have no idea which one it is. Could you, or anyone who is familiar with them possibly shed some light on which one this is? Name, year made, etc.?
It is a rabbit, about 20 inches or taller, wearing what (appears) to be a elaborate Shakesperian type outfit (might be pirate, but I think it is Shakesperian), with a large black felt hat and feather. It’s costume is very detailed with ruffles, ribbons and has a long train off the back of the costume. The fabric is gold colored. It is beautiful and has the “mark roberts collection” label under the outfit.
Any help to identify and have a history would be so appreciated. Thanks so much to anyone who can help.

My spouce’s secretary just gave him a couple of boxes of things ,from a store that a friend of hers had owned, for us to sell at a yard sale or what ever we wanted to do with it. We found 2 of the “Birthday Fairies”. It is amazing what some people will toss out and not even know the value it holds. We are pleased with our new find.

You had a group of baby fairies - peach, tomato, grape, etc. Could you tell me how many there were altogether and their names?
Thanks,
Terri

Mark,
Was the retired Merlin Fairy 51-35668 made in the smaller size? If so, is it available? Would you consider making a Wizard Fairy in black and metallic’s? I would be first in line to purchase it! Thank you for all of your creative fairies. I love them and have many out all the time, not just during the holidays.

Great question Andrea! Yes, I intend to put out a book someday on the exact topic you have mentioned. WHEN is the big question, as my time is consumed with my Fairies and Home Collection line. You will soon see a new website of mine www.Stylish-Home.com highlighting much of my home accessory collection.

Hi Mark-
I enjoyed meeting you at Bergdorf’s in new York. Any plans to put out a guide of all your fairies with issue date, production limits, etc.?

I was wondering if you could tell me which Santa I may currently own (I have four of him). He and the boys were my first purchase and introduction to what Mark Roberts is all about. I did not mail in the certificate. I looked for him on the retiree’s list of honorees, but did not find him. I also have not seen him anywhere I look.
He is 21-22 Inches tall (not counting his hat). He is more the skinny lean type!
His clothing is in red and gold lame’ colors. He has on red velvet knickers (with a monochromatic design pattern in the fabric) trimmed with a one-inch band at the knee of gold glitter fabric with rick-rack edge. His legs are gold lame’ fabric and he has on red velvet boots tied at the top with a double bow of gold lame’ fabric cord. His coat length is not as long as his knickers–the body of the coat is of the same red velvet as the knickers—the arm sleeves of the coat and his under-shirt are of a two layered fabric which consists of a top layer of silky netting with gold metallic swirl designs on it, then lined with a solid red silky fabric underneath. The coat and sleeve edges are trimmed out with the same one-inch gold glitter banding that is on the leg edges of his knickers. He is wearing a triangle pointed hat of the same swirl fabric trimmed with the one-inch glitter gold banding around his forehead. The point of the hat has a round bell on the end. The headband part of the hat has a red rose with red, white, and gold berries & greenery.
His left arm at the wrist area has an accessory attached consisting of a skinny round wooden wreath adorned with 3 red roses and the same red and white berries & greenery matching his headband.
His beard and hair are made of long individual white strands. I am not sure when I purchased him…maybe 5-10 years ago as the tree is 10 years old.
I have since added more Mark Roberts guys to the gang! They are all very happy and look forward to who joins their party each year! I still must find my this years’ addition to the Holiday festivities. I have a spot waiting for him!
I am so looking forward to hearing from you. Will you be able to tell me his “Mark Roberts name” and how old he is from the information I have given above? Hope so. He and his 3 counterparts are the focal point of my tree each year! One of them is lucky enough to be the tree topper with the most tree decorator pix and trimmings making him the star of the tree! Ha! Note: My husband thinks I am losing it at times when I say things like, “Whose turn is it this year to be the star of the tree?” Ha!
I love my tree Santas and Fairies–can you tell? I also must tell you that part of getting into the Holiday spirit is to go to the local stores to see what great things they do to display your “gang”. I love seeing a whole tree done—but really love it when I see a whole room full of lots of Mark Roberts things! At one store, I even found a beautiful wine decanteur on a stand that the owner told me was part of the Mark Roberts line of products.
I am hooked.
Happy Holidays to everyone there. And, I so look forward to hearing back from you!
Sincerely,
Jackie
P.S. Does the return of the certificates have anything to do with the retiring of different Santa’s, Fairies, etc.? What do you actually do with the returned certificates?
December 7th, 2007 at 11:22 am
I love the “…..Retired Fairies” list. Please keep it updated as what it contains is invaluable. I am currently the proud owner of 47 fairies and santas and have been collecting them for over 10 years. I hadn’t been sending in the certificates but I have the entire stack here and as soon as I copy them all, they are on there way to you. Every year you make my decisions more and more difficult. Instead of introducing 30 pieces like you did in 2007, as a collector, I would like to see less introduced and the number produced limited. This creates more of a demand and a harder time getting them. That is what collecting is all about…..and when you finally receive one of the most beautiful fairies or santas imaginable, it makes it all the more worthwhile. Keep up your magnificent work!!!!!!!!

Hi Mark,
I just discovered your work and absolutely love your creations. Since November, I bought 4 fairies and 1 Santa. I especially love your commitment to musical instruments. Violins are my favorite. Please continue making musician fairies and Santas.
Very truly yours,
Diana

Dear Mark and staff:
Beautiful, Beautiful, BEAUTIFUL. Today I received my first fairy. It is the Breast cancer limited edition one. He is so wonderful. I fluffed and twisted and played all day with him and put him up for Christmas.
My sister like your Mother died in 1989 from BC and she was only 36 years young.
I hope that all the people in the world could experience the joy that you bring through your beautiful fairies and Santa’s.
Wishing you and your staff a very Happy and prosperous holiday and an extremely Merry Christmas!!
God Bless you for your wonderful imagination and creativity. I am the same way and would love to open and Florida factory. Any rep openings?
Sincerely,
Darlene

I was given a beautiful 2003 Mark Roberts Limited Edition Santa on Ram for my wedding last December and was so looking forward to being able to display it for the first time this year in our new home. When I went to gather it from storage, however, I noticed a small opening in the box. Upon opening the box, I found that an animal had gotten into the bag containing the Santa on Ram and had nested there, nearly destroying all of the hair on the Ram. Needless to say, I am devastated by this because it was given to me by a dear friend and I have yet to have an opportunity to display it. I am desperately trying to find someone who can repair the damage or find a replacement. If anyone can help or offer suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you.

Thanks Mona for the nice comments. It’s all work and no play for this fella though…no vacations for quite a few years now, but when you love what you do, it’s not so bad really.

Mark, I am absolutely overwhelmed by the treasures you create. As an artist I personally can say that your attention to detail is fabulous, your color mixtures traditional yet unique and unusual, remarkable and distinctive.
You are wonderfully talented, thank you for sharing your gift with all of us. My friends, now that I have discovered you, adore your work as do I. NOW my problem is which ones when?? Oh perhaps I’ll sell a painting and buy them ALL!
Thank you for the cards.
Happy Holidays to you, and based upon the effort and attention that you put into each creation, for heaven’s sake Mr. Robert’s go to Paris for Christmas (even better… Vienna), come back inspired and rested and knock us all dead again! I so dearly appreciate your work and am proud to display my muses large and small in my studio and in my home.
Many blessings,
Mona
By the way: I got this retired list, and it’s so great and working SO well, that I honestly don’t know where to begin. At Pratt we were taught to begin with a thought, if I could only think the thought!

Good question Carolyn! More recently, I have been trying to include an element in my small sized Fairies hands. Because I am very aware of trying to keep the cost of them as reasonable as possible, and since putting something into their hands can sometimes disproportionally increase the cost, I had not included them in the past. Going forward, you will start to see more small ones have some kind of element in their hands. I appreciate your comment/question.

I was wondering why the small (which I collect) fairies cannot be made with some sort of hand ornament. It kind of leaves us “small” collectors a little empty. I have no room for larger ones. Can Mark do something about this?

Hello Connie,
Thanks for bringing the problem to our attention. The Retired Fairies list is now up.
August 27th, 2007 at 10:05 am
Well, as I said before…the new website looks great!!
Unfortunately the link to the ‘Retired Fairies’ still isn’t working…nor am I able to access any information on the retired fairies…of which I use often to refer when considering purchasing retired fairies.
I hope the Retired Fairies will be available soon, it’s been down for quite some time.
Thanks, & keep making the beautiful fairies please!
